Takro

A popular Southeast Asian sport played with a ball woven out of Rattan. This sport is called “Takro” in Laos, but other Southeast Asian countries have a different name for the sport. Traditionally, it was played with people in a circle kicking the ball with their feet…similar to hacky sack. As a competitive sport, it is played similar to the style of volleyball, but with your feet. Check out the video to see how intense it looks!

I actually have one of these balls at home, but I am horrible at it. My dad said he use to play it when he lived in Laos. I want to see his skills, but I don’t want him to get hurt! :P
