The Coach & Horses pub in Soho, London, is a famous pub that boasted an infamous landlord, Norman Balon, whose catchphrase was “F*** off, you’re barred.” This might come off a bit unfriendly except in eccentric and offbeat Soho, where apparently no offense was taken. The pub is popular with the staff of Private Eye (a fortnightly satirical and current affairs magazine) and was oft-attended by British columnist Jeffrey Bernard.
